My Hygge

(pronounced "hoo-guh") Hygge is a Danish concept that embodies coziness, warmth, and a sense of well-being. It's about enjoying life's simple moments—sharing a meal with friends, curling up with a book, or creating a space that feels welcoming and comfortable.

Small details. Strong relationships.

My Hygge helps you remember the details about the people in your life. It exists to support thoughtfulness, not productivity. Presence, not optimization. Warmth, not performance.

My Hygge helps people show up better for the people they care about.

Why My Hygge exists

Most people genuinely care about their relationships. What gets in the way is not effort or intention—it's cognitive load:

  • Busy schedules
  • Competing priorities
  • Too many people to remember small details about
  • Life moving faster than memory

My Hygge exists to quietly reduce that friction.

If life were a little quieter, we'd remember these things ourselves.

My Hygge exists to restore that quiet. It acts as an external memory for relational context, allowing you to remember birthdays and anniversaries, recall meaningful conversations, understand how people are connected, and follow through on good intentions.

The heart of My Hygge

At its core, My Hygge is intentionally calm, non-performative, private, and human. It is not meant to feel like work or a system. It is meant to feel like a quiet corner—a notebook you trust, a small ritual, something that doesn't rush you.

The app is built on the belief that most people want to be kind, most people want to remember, and most people are doing their best. My Hygge exists to help—quietly, respectfully, and humanly.

Does this help someone show up more thoughtfully for another person—without adding pressure or noise?

This is the question we ask before adding or changing anything. If the answer isn't clearly yes, it doesn't belong.

Core principles

People over data. People are never reduced to records, scores, or pipelines. Data exists only to serve empathy and memory—not analysis or ranking.

Warmth over efficiency. My Hygge favors emotional clarity over speed and cleverness. A slower, clearer interaction is better than a faster, colder one.

Gentle by default. Gentle language. Gentle UI. Gentle expectations. My Hygge should never shame users for forgetting. It exists because forgetting is human.

Low cognitive load. If something is hard to capture quickly, it won't be captured at all. Quick notes, minimal required fields, no forced structure unless it adds clarity.

How My Hygge helps

Remember birthdays and anniversaries

Keep track of the dates that matter most to the people in your life, with gentle reminders when they're coming up.

Recall preferences

Remember the small things—favorite foods, drinks, interests—that make conversations more personal and thoughtful.

Capture meaningful moments

Jot down conversations and moments you want to remember. Think of it as a small, private journal for your relationships.

Track connections

Understand how people are connected to each other—"met through", "works with", "family of"—so context is never lost.

See a gentle timeline

View interactions over time in a calm, uncluttered way that helps you see patterns and stay present.

Follow through

Turn good intentions into actions. Remember to check in, send that message, or plan that coffee.

All of this should feel optional, lightweight, and forgiving. My Hygge is not meant to feel like work or a system—it's meant to feel like a small, safe place.

What My Hygge is not

My Hygge is not:

  • A CRM (customer relationship management tool)
  • A social network
  • A productivity tracker
  • A gamified habit app
  • An attention engine

It does not:

  • Optimize for engagement metrics
  • Push notifications aggressively
  • Encourage "relationship management" as a task
  • Treat people like data rows

If something feels extractive, noisy, or performative—it is likely out of scope for My Hygge.
